Frequently asked questions and answers about heavy eyelids

Frequently asked questions about heavy eyelids
Bags and loose skin above and below the eyes are something that comes with age and is usually hereditary. This can be resolved by eyelid surgery, also known as blepharoplasty.
Many people suffer from heavy eyelids, and this is due to several factors. Heavy eyelids develop over the years due to increasing excess skin and protruding fat. In most cases, this is only localized on the eyelids, but sometimes it is also combined with drooping eyebrows or forehead.
We are often contacted by people who have questions about eyelid surgery. We have received questions from our followers on social media about eyelid surgery and the most common questions – so we wanted to share them with you now. The most common questions have been answered by our plastic surgery specialist, Dr. Alexander Vigen.
Will my vision be affected immediately after the operation?
No, it doesn't.
When can I exercise after eyelid surgery?
You can start exercising 2-3 weeks after surgery.
When can I go back to work after surgery?
You can go back to work after a couple of days, but you will have stitches and tape – and many people therefore plan to take a week off work until the stitches are removed. Many people also have it done before going on vacation.
How long does eyelid surgery take?
The operation takes just under an hour.
During a consultation, you will receive answers to all your questions.
