Butt lift in Oslo – get a firmer and more sculpted butt with a butt lift
Buttock lift (gluteal lift)
Buttock lift (buttock lift or buttock plastic surgery) tightens and lifts the skin on the buttocks after weight loss or aging. The treatment can be combined with liposuction or fat grafting to give a balanced and natural result.
Practical information
After weight loss or aging, the skin on the buttocks can lose firmness and appear flat or saggy. A surgical buttock lift restores a smoother shape and better projection, and can be combined with fat grafting (BBL) for extra volume and a rounded shape.
What is a rumble lift?
After weight loss, the buttocks can sag, resulting in a lack of projection and becoming flat and droopy. Many people want more volume, shape, and "bounce." In buttock augmentation, a curved scar is made over each buttock ("butterfly scar") and the buttocks are lifted to achieve more projection and a better shape. You can either remove the excess skin and tighten it, or rotate and insert this tissue into the buttocks for buttock augmentation. Many people who have lost a lot of weight do not have enough fat to transplant as with BBL, so this is a good method for enlarging the buttocks and achieving a bouncy butt where you both tighten the skin and enlarge it.
BBL or buttock augmentation?
What we call buttock augmentation is actually what Brazilians call BBL, Brazilian butt lift, while most places in the world and Norway use the term BBL for what Brazilians call BBA, Brazilian butt augmentation, i.e. buttock augmentation using the patient's own fat. We will therefore also use the term BBL for augmentation with fat and buttock plastic surgery or butt lift for procedures where sagging skin is tightened and a scar is left. The procedure can be combined with liposuction of the back and other areas.
What is a BBL?
See our separate information page about BBL. A Brazilian butt lift is a procedure where fat is removed from several areas, such as the stomach, waist, and back, and injected into the buttocks to achieve a larger, more projected, and perkier butt, as well as to correct so-called hip dips, i.e., if you lack fullness. Some people come to us because they think they have a more masculine shape with more fat on their stomach and little or no fat on their hips and buttocks, and want this redistributed to achieve more feminine shapes.
To correct hip dips, you can also use skin from a buttock lift in the opposite direction, or it is most common to use fat to correct this.
The day of the operation
On the day of the operation, you must fast for 6 hours before the operation. It is also important that you do not chew gum or lozenges, use snuff or smoke. You should not use perfume, deodorant or makeup—and piercings and nail polish must be removed.
It is always a priority for us that you feel well cared for with the very best expertise, in safe and comfortable surroundings. You will be welcomed by a nurse who will go through a checklist with you. You will also meet our anesthesia staff who will look after you during the operation. You will then see the surgeon for a preoperative consultation. During the operation, you will be given anesthesia and a large amount of local anesthetic to limit the pain.
The operation itself takes approximately 2-3 hours.
After the operation, you will be monitored by our nurses, and you will remain in bed for at least one hour after the operation is complete. You will be given food, drink, and pain relief as needed.
What should I consider after a butt lift?
During the first 24 hours after surgery, you must be accompanied by another person and stay overnight near the clinic. If you have any questions, our on-call telephone service is available around the clock. On the evening of the surgery, our plastic surgeon will also call patients to check on their progress and provide any information they may need. The procedure is usually not very painful. Pain is very individual and varies from person to person, but you will receive a lot of anesthesia during the operation, which means that there is usually little pain in the early stages, and when the anesthesia wears off, you will be given medication that is effective against pain. You will receive thorough written and verbal instructions on how to take the medication. Painkillers are prescribed on a prescription that you collect before the operation. You should not sit on your bottom for the first few weeks after the procedure, as after BBL, and should have a pillow under your knees when sitting to relieve pressure on your bottom. We usually close the wound with stitches that dissolve by themselves. In some cases, drains are inserted. We have a check-up at the clinic after 5-7 days. We recommend that you tape the scars for a couple of months afterwards.
You can resume everyday activities two weeks after the operation. You can go for short walks, but you should wait four to six weeks before doing any high-intensity exercise.
What is included in the price?
The price you pay for an operation includes all follow-up checks you would need after an operation. We are available to all our patients and want them to have the safest experience throughout the entire process.
