Chemical Peeling – Acne, Pigmentation, and Wrinkles in Oslo
Chemical Peel
Chemical peeling is a skin renewal treatment in which an acid solution is applied to the skin to exfoliate, remove damaged cells and stimulate cell renewal and collagen production.
Practical information
Chemical peels are an effective, controlled method of improving the appearance and texture of the skin. By using different types of acids (such as AHA, BHA, TCA), we can target specific problems such as acne, pigmentation, and signs of aging. The treatment removes the top, damaged layers of skin and stimulates the growth of fresh, new skin, resulting in smoother, clearer, and more radiant skin.
What is chemical peeling, and how does it work?
Chemical peeling is a method used for effective skin renewal and repair of various skin damage. We create controlled damage to the skin that promotes the growth of new skin with an improved appearance in the epidermis. This is done by brushing stabilized fruit acids, lactic acids, and vitamin A acids in various strengths onto the skin, which exfoliates dead skin cells. The acid then acts on the upper layer of the skin and stimulates the skin's own collagen production, leaving the skin surface new, firm, and tight.

How many treatments will I need?
The number of treatments required depends on the skin condition you have.
Normally, four to eight treatments are required, but a milder peel such as a fresh up/party peel can also be used with just one treatment.
Is the treatment painful?
During treatment, you may feel some warmth, stinging, tingling, or itching of the skin, but the treatment should not be painful.
Is there any downtime after treatment?
In general, there is little downtime, but you may experience redness of the skin for the first few hours after treatment. After a few days, the skin may flake slightly. It is generally not recommended to exercise on the same day.
How do I know which chemical peel is right for me?
We offer several types of chemical peels. Before treatment, one of our cosmetic nurses will give you a thorough skin analysis and consultation to determine which peel your skin needs and what your wishes are.
How is a chemical peel treatment performed?
The area to be treated is cleansed before we apply the peel with a brush. How long the peel should be left on varies from person to person, as this depends on your skin type and how your skin reacts. When the peel is applied to the skin, it may sting and you will feel some warmth. Once the desired effect has been achieved, the peel is neutralized and we apply moisturizer and sun protection. Most people can return to their daily activities immediately.
Are there any side effects after chemical peeling treatment?
It is normal to experience some redness and swelling in the hours following treatment. For some people, this may last longer. Small sores may occur, and most people will experience some flaking of the skin during the first week.
Your skin may feel dry after treatment. These reactions are completely normal.
