MeLine Pigment Treatment – Melasma and Sun Damage in Oslo
MeLine Skin Program
MeLine is a complete medical skin care program specially developed for the effective treatment of all types of pigmentation, including melasma and sun damage.
Practical information
MeLine is a unique and specialized treatment concept designed to treat deep pigment spots and hyperpigmentation, regardless of skin type. The program combines a professional, powerful clinic treatment (peeling) with a carefully tailored home program. This ensures that pigment formation is inhibited and that existing pigment is removed from deep within the skin.
What is MeLine, and how does the program work?
MeLine is a unique treatment concept based on a combination of depigmenting active ingredients such as kojic acid, azelaic acid, and phytic acid. The program works by blocking the enzyme tyrosinase, which is necessary for the production of melanin (pigment), while exfoliating superficial pigment.
The MeLine program consists of two phases:
- Clinic treatment: An intensive peel that exfoliates and initiates the depigmentation process.
- Home treatment: Essential products to maintain, protect, and continue to inhibit pigment production.
Who is MeLine suitable for?
MeLine is one of the most effective treatments for hyperpigmentation and has been specially developed to treat:
- Melasma (hormonal pigmentation): A challenging type of pigmentation that requires medical treatment.
- Sun damage and age spots: Superficial pigmentation caused by UV radiation.
- Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation: Pigment spots that occur after acne or injury.
We tailor a solution adapted to your skin
MeLine offers treatments and products for pigmentation on the face and body, and for different skin types. The treatment is carefully tailored to your specific pigment type and skin sensitivity to ensure maximum effect and safety.
Security and expertise
MeLine is a medical skin program that requires thorough training and follow-up. At Nordstrandklinikken , MeLine treatments are performed by our experienced cosmetic nurses who are certified in the use of the program and have the necessary expertise in treating various forms of pigmentation. This ensures that you receive the best guidance and follow-up throughout the entire process.
Avoid all forms of sun exposure for at least two weeks prior to treatment. The skin must be prepared with a specific, mild home product from MeLine for 15 days prior to the actual peel in order to increase the effect and reduce the risk of side effects.
The treatment begins with thorough cleansing and degreasing of the skin. MeLine peel is then applied in several layers, and the practitioner will follow the protocol for exposure time precisely, which is tailored to your skin type and pigment depth. You will experience a warm or stinging sensation during application. The home program is started immediately after the clinic treatment.
The skin will be red and tight, and visible flaking is expected for 3–7 days, depending on the strength of the peel. You must strictly follow the medical home program and avoid all sun exposure throughout the treatment period. No strenuous exercise, sauna, or swimming for the first 48 hours.
