What is a lip lift?
One procedure that has become increasingly popular in recent years is surgical lip lift. This is a minor operation that can be performed under local anesthesia, whereby a carefully calculated amount of skin is removed just below the nose to lift the upper lip slightly. The ideal distance on the upper lip and how much should be removed is calculated in advance, and a so-called "bullhorn" removal of the skin under the nose is performed, leaving a small visible scar.
Are you a candidate for a lip lift?
The procedure is suitable for those who have a long upper lip and want to correct this. Many people may feel self-conscious about their front teeth not being visible when they are not smiling, or about their upper lip having dropped significantly over time. The distance from the nose to the red part of the lip can be 13-15 mm in many young people, but can be up to 22-25 mm in older people who find that it also blocks their teeth when they smile.

Alternative methods
We also offer non-surgical methods for lip lifting. One way to lift the lip is with Fotona laser, known as liplase. A laser can be used on the upper lip, which does not leave any scars and can lift the lip 1-2 millimeters. The results are not immediate, but appear over time as it stimulates increased collagen production.
In middle-aged or older people, the lips have often lost much of their elasticity and become longer, and fillers are then not as suitable for filler treatments and may give a more sausage-shaped appearance. A lip lift can restore the lips to their original shape.
