Dermapen Microneedling – Scars, Lines, and Radiance in Oslo
Dermapen
Advanced microneedling technology that creates thousands of microchannels to stimulate collagen and treat scars, wrinkles, and uneven skin texture.
Practical information
Dermapen is an advanced microneedling treatment that uses precise microneedles to create controlled damage to the skin. This triggers the body's natural healing response and stimulates massive production of new collagen and elastin. The result is a visible reduction in scars and fine lines, and improved skin texture and firmness.
What is Dermapen, and how does it work?
Microneedling, also known as either percutaneous collagen induction (PCI) or collagen induction therapy (CIT), involves creating many small channels in the skin using a tool with needles. This stimulates the skin to heal without scarring and regenerate. By applying customized ingredients topically, they will be able to penetrate deeper.
Dermapen is an advanced form of microneedling used for skin improvement. It consists of many small needles that create tiny holes in the skin and form channels. At the same time, various types of serums with active ingredients are added, which penetrate the skin better and improve the skin, in fact as much as 80% better penetration into the dermis (the leather skin) and nourish and improve the epidermis (the outer skin). These micro channels in the skin stimulate repair and new cell growth. The result is increased collagen production in the skin, comparable to the effect of laser treatment.
Dermapen can be combined very well with other treatments, both tailor-made skin programs for home use, but also with various peels, mesotherapy, depending on skin condition and desired results.
Dermapen has disposable needles and is therefore completely sterile.
Which areas can be treated with Dermapen?
Dermapen can be used on the entire face, body, neck, and hands. Some of the conditions that Dermapen can treat are:
- Dull and gray skin
- Large pores
- Stretch marks
- Wrinkles, lines
- Sagging uneven skin
- Scars and acne scars
How many Dermapen treatments are necessary?
This depends entirely on what and who you are treating.
- General skin improvement: normally 4-6 treatments at 4-8 week intervals
- Acne scars: From 6 treatments at 6-8 week intervals
- Stretch marks: 4-8 treatments at 6-8 week intervals
How long will it take before I see results with Dermapen?
As a rule, you will see improvement after the first treatment. More long-lasting results depend on how long cell renewal takes (approx. 32 weeks). If there are deeper lines or scars, visible changes will be noticeable 2-3 to 6 months after treatment. The condition of the skin will continue to improve over 6 to 12 months after completing treatment, especially if combined with the right products for home use.
Is Dermapen treatment painful?
When using the short needle heads, treatments with Dermapen are relatively painless. Treatments that require the use of needle heads longer than 0.5 mm may require the use of anesthetic cream 15-40 minutes before treatment. This will make the treatment virtually painless. Anesthesia is not necessary as it is a relatively quick treatment. We can provide anesthesia in the form of cream if desired.
Can you use makeup after Dermapen treatment?
After Dermapen treatment, your skin will feel warm and appear slightly to moderately red. This will subside after 24 hours, and you can then apply makeup. No makeup and no strenuous physical exercise is recommended for the first 24 hours.
Can you have Dermapen treatment in the summer?
You can undergo treatment all year round. However, you must be sure to use sunscreen and protect your skin when using Dermapen in the summer.
