VASER Lipo in Oslo – precise liposuction and body contouring with ultrasound technology

VASER Lipo

VASER Lipo is an advanced form of liposuction that uses ultrasound energy to gently loosen and melt fat. The method causes less swelling and requires a shorter recovery time, and produces a smoother and more defined result than traditional liposuction.

Everything you need to know about VASER liposuction (VASER Lipo)

Liposuction or liposculpture is a cosmetic procedure that removes fat from specific areas under the skin. VASER liposuction is a method that first breaks down the fat cells so that they can be removed more effectively during the subsequent treatment.

VASER is an acronym for Vibration Amplification of Sound Energy at Resonance. This ultrasound technology uses powerful waves to disrupt the bonds between fat cells.

VASER liposuction is considered a more controlled and gentle form of liposuction, offering greater precision and controlled results when performed by an experienced plastic surgeon.

You may be a candidate for liposuction if you are healthy, do not smoke, have no bleeding disorders, and have areas of unwanted fat that do not disappear with diet or exercise, and if you want greater definition.

Liposuction is not considered a weight loss method. Those who achieve the best results with VASER liposuction are people of normal weight who want to change their body shape and contours and who have tried exercise, or people who are slightly overweight, typically 5-7 kg away from their ideal weight. The procedure provides greater precision for targeting fat deposits and revealing underlying muscles and definition.

How does VASER liposuction work?

Liposuction is one of the most popular plastic surgery procedures in the world, and we perform many procedures every week. All types of liposuction are performed in the same basic way. Fat deposits are broken down and then removed from your body using anesthesia, saline solution, and cannulas to suck out the fat under your skin.

Water pressure and lasers are two ways in which fat deposits can be broken down before the suction procedure. Pulsed ultrasound waves are another method. VASER liposuction is a type of ultrasound liposuction that makes it easier to perform contouring procedures.

All of these energy sources generate heat that helps break down fat cells for easier removal and, to a certain extent, tighten the skin in the treated area.

VASER liposuction is unique in that it allows Dr. Alexander Vigen to be more gentle and extremely precise in the way fat is removed. It disrupts the connection between the fatty tissue and the muscles underneath without damaging the underlying healthy tissue. This gives VASER liposuction a good reputation for body sculpting.

Studies show that liposuction also changes the way your metabolism works to get rid of fat. There is still much that researchers are working to understand about this.

In a small study from 2017, men who were overweight and underwent VASER liposuction had improved insulin sensitivity within months of the procedure.

Procedure for VASER liposuction

VASER liposuction is usually performed under general or sedation anesthesia, in addition to local anesthesia and a numbing liposuction mixture under the skin. A saline solution or tumescent fluid mixed with an anesthetic will be injected into the target area. Ultrasound probes are then inserted into the skin through a small incision to break up the fatty tissue.

The fatty tissue will gently begin to break apart, and a cannula will be used to vacuum out the fatty tissue and most of the fluid through the same port.

Some of the fluid will remain in your body to reduce pain after the procedure. Your body will absorb it over the next few days.

Before surgery

To prepare for your appointment, make sure your doctor is aware of any medications you are taking. Avoid taking blood-thinning medications, such as ibuprofen, for 2 weeks prior to a liposuction procedure.

Also avoid drinking alcohol before the procedure, as this increases the risk of bleeding. Your plastic surgeon can give you further instructions to prepare for VASER liposuction. Be sure to follow these instructions carefully.

After surgery

After VASER liposuction, your body may look a little bruised and swollen in the areas that were treated. You will probably not be able to see the results right away because your body needs time to heal.

Absorbent bandages are applied, as some liposuction fluid will be released during the first 24-48 hours. You will also need to wear a compression garment for several weeks to reduce swelling.

After approximately 3 to 6 months, the results become apparent as the body heals.

The results of VASER liposuction are permanent. But how your body looks after recovery is partly up to you. After undergoing liposuction, you must maintain your diet and exercise routine so that your body retains the results. Also, keep in mind that there is no way to eliminate all visible signs of aging. Weight fluctuations, inflammation, and simple gravity can all change the way your results look over time.

  • butt
  • hip and thigh
  • arms

Are there any risks or side effects?

VASER liposuction is a low-risk procedure. However, this does not mean that there is no risk of side effects. Common side effects include:

  • bruising and bleeding in the days following the procedure
  • pain and soreness at the site of liposuction
  • possible scarring after healing from liposuction
  • persistent swelling days or weeks after the procedure
  • loose skin that does not adhere to the new body shape

VASER liposuction vs. traditional liposuction

VASER liposuction is a similar procedure to traditional liposuction, although there are some important differences. The main difference is that VASER liposuction offers greater precision in the fat removal process. It is not a tool for removing large fat deposits.

The best VASER liposuction results involve a contouring approach, which involves removing small fat deposits to reveal the muscle tone underneath.

Many also claim that VASER technology makes recovery after liposuction less painful and that healing occurs more quickly.
